Liverpool Kini Salah Satu Tim Yang ditakuti
Liverpool made it through to the 2018/19 Champions League
final. In addition, although thin, the Reds are also still likely to win the
Premier League title for the first time.
According to Trent Alexander-Arnold, this is a massive
statement from Liverpool - that they have placed themselves in the ranks of the
world's football elite and become a feared team.
In the Champions League last season, Liverpool reached the
final but lost to Real Madrid. This time, in the final against Tottenham,
Liverpool did not want to fail again.
The championship trophy shows your position. "The main
thing for us is to qualify for the finals, step one step further than last year
and win it," Alexander-Arnold said, as quoted by Mirror.
"This is a sign of improvement - entering the final day
of the league and still competing for the title, and reaching the Champions
League final."
"This shows that we are able to compete in all aspects
and move to the end. This is a massive statement to show that we are able to do
things like this."
Liverpool qualified for the Champions League final after
making a comeback against Barcelona. Losing 0-3 at the Camp Nou in the first
leg, the Reds responded with a 4-0 win at Anfield in the second leg.
"I'm sure people have respected us, but beating
Barcelona in the way we did has brought us to the next level," continued
Alexander-Arnold.
"We have beaten one of the best teams, if not the best
in the world, with a score of 4-0 when we were not at all seeded."
"We have shown the world-class level of our team. If we
only consider the characters, maybe we are the best in the world."
Alexander-Arnold believes that the success of getting rid of
Barcelona in such a way has made Liverpool a feared team throughout the world.
"We are underdogs in many matches. But we show that we
are brave and we are a team that must be feared. That is important," said
Alexander-Arnold.
"It is important to return to the best team in Europe,
and that is what we are trying to achieve - to create a feared team in world
football. We are not too far away to make it happen," he stressed.
This week, Liverpool will host Wolverhampton in their last
match in the Premier League. Liverpool, who are one point behind leaders
Manchester City, need to win and hope the rivals slip at home to Brighton.
